Biography

Kim Mueller grew up in Lawrence, Kansas, and attended the University of Kansas where she earned a Bachelor of Science in journalism, Bachelor of Arts in Spanish, and a Master of Arts in higher education administration.  After spending a semester abroad in Spain, she returned to Kansas City and began working as a sales representative for Hallmark Cards Inc. After three years, Mueller returned to KU where she worked for the Office of Admissions and Scholarships as a recruiter, assistant director, and associate director.  During her tenure in admissions, Mueller actively recruited students, managed the on-campus visitation program and events, and oversaw the recruitment staff. She also served as the career fair coordinator and started the HAWK Mentor program (Helpful Alumni Working for KU) for first-generation high school students to help then prepare for life at KU.
