Masters students at the Habitat for Humanity Build Day

Friday, October 8, 2010

A group of University of Kansas School of Business masters students recently took a break from building business models and, instead, helped build a house for a family in Lawrence, Kan.

The 16 Master of Business Administration and Master of Accounting students volunteered their time away from the world of business to give back to the community by working with the Lawrence Habitat for Humanity organization.

“The Habitat for Humanity Build Day provided a great opportunity to work with my peers on a house that was for a family who had been patiently waiting since 2006,” said second-year MBA Sarah Shubert.

The project was part of a Graduate Business Council initiative. The School of Business student organization provides masters students with community service opportunities on a regular basis.
