Process for admitting students into the School of Business

Typically, students apply to enter the School of Business during their sophomore year. Entry is highly competitive with strong consideration given to GPA and ACT/SAT scores. How to Apply

Student Advising

Academic advising is an important part of the educational process. Different advising options are available for students, based upon their academic level.
  • Freshman and Sophomores are encouraged to use KU's University Advising Center (at the following link: http://advising.ku.edu/)

Ethics and Honor

The School of Business requires that all students conduct themselves in an ethical manner. This dedication to ethical behavior is an integral part of the student experience.

Career Services

Each year the Business Career Services Center (BCSC) helps hundreds of students achieve their career goals. The BCSC regularly holds student seminars on topics including resume writing, interview techniques and networking tips. These seminars are further supplemented by an exhaustive bank of material regarding job search strategies, salary and benefits negotiation, and relocation considerations. The yearly Business Career Fair brings to campus more than 100 companies from industries across the board for face-to-face contact with students. Read more about Career Services events and resources in the monthly Business Career Services Student Newsletter.

Differential Tuition/Course Fees

The cost of attendance is taken very seriously throughout the University of Kansas. The School of Business is one of a number of schools where students are charged both a base tuition and what is called differential tuition or course fees. Base tuition is determined at the state and university level. Schools can petition the University to charge course fees and all funds from that fee directly benefit the respective school.

Fees charged for School of Business courses are a result of a student-driven initiative to enhance the quality of a KU business education. It is an investment that students chose to make and the School of Business is executing their plan.

Click to hear William L. Fuerst, Dean of the School of Business, discuss the benefits provided by differential tuition.

Graduation

The School of Business regularly holds on-campus Graduation Recognition Ceremonies each December and May. Due to the size of the event, the number of tickets may be limited. Graduation page
