Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM)
The KU SHRM chapter is dedicated to providing students with valuable HR as well as managerial exposure and experiences. The chapter provides a mentoring program and job shadowing opportunities where students are paired with local HR professionals and can network in a one-on-one setting. As well as having bi-weekly meetings, KU SHRM also competes in the yearly State of Kansas HR Games, has active HR professionals teach members about the HR profession, and keeps our members updated on job and internship postings, most of which are targeted to students! There are no requirements to join, all majors welcome.

Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE) is an international student organization which has the goal of "changing the world." The group focuses on community outreach and educational-based projects supporting the benefits and responsibilities of the free enterprise system. Students develop projects in the areas of (1) market economics, (2) entrepreneurship, (3) personal financial success skills, and (4) business ethics. SIFE has regional and national competitions each year to present the group's projects. The contests are judged by upper managment of the largest and most respected companies in the country, many of which are SIFE sponsors. All students, regardless of major, graduate or undergraduate are invited to participate. SIFE develops the leadership, teamwork, and communication skills that are greatly valued in competitive job markets. SIFE is a strong plus on your resume.
