LAWRENCE ― U.S. News and World Report's "Best Colleges" 2012 ranked the University of Kansas School of Business undergraduate program 33rd in the nation among public business schools, a rise of two points from last year. That puts the KU Business School in the top 12 percent of public business schools across the country.

"The 2012 undergraduate ranking of our School of Business by U.S. News and World Report is a benchmark," said Neeli Bendapudi, dean of the University of Kansas School of Business. "We are poised for greatness and we will continue to move forward, enhancing the reputation of our school among students, employers and peer institutions."

"Bear in mind," she added, "rankings are a measuring stick of sorts, but not the end goal. What matters are the quality and the sustainability of the education we offer our students, coupled with how well they succeed in their careers. That will always be our primary focus."

With 382 schools included in U.S. News and World Report’s overall (public and private) undergraduate rankings, KU is 55th in the nation, in a tie with the University of Missouri and others such as Northeastern University, Pepperdine University, Georgia State University, Miami University - Ohio and University of Connecticut.  KU ranked above the universities of Nebraska, Iowa State, Oklahoma State, Kansas State, Baylor and Texas Tech.

The University of Kansas also rose in the recent rankings of universities as a whole, moving to 46th among public universities, up one place, and 101st overall, up three places, from the 2011 list.
