Friday, Aug. 26, 2011
TOPEKA — Kansas Governor Sam Brownback spoke Wed., August 17 to the Kansas Board of Regents urging state universities to put a concentrated effort in the growth of academic programs that benefit the Kansas economy. He added that this may also mean downsizing or even removing programs that have fewer students and less positive impact on the economy.
During his speech, he mentioned the University of Kansas School of Business as one of the essential programs to help stimulate and grow the Kansas economy. Other important areas included the pharmacy school at the University of Kansas, veterinary school at Kansas State University and aviation at Wichita State University.
