Finance student is one of three to win $1500 scholarship

Dev Vrat Khanna, a junior finance major and economics minor, from Pune, India, was a winner of the Financial Executives International academic award. Khanna was one of three winners from the surrounding area and was given a scholarship of $1500 for outstanding achievement in finance or accounting.
He was nominated by the Finance and Accounting faculty and was one of two University of Kansas Business School students to be nominated. Upon nomination Khanna had to apply for the award.
The application process was fairly straightforward and included a list of Khanna's academic and extracurricular involvement. He was able to share past internship experience, as well as his participation in the finance scholars program and the University scholars program. Khanna is also the Vice President of Alpha Kappa Psi, the professional business fraternity.
After submitting his application, Khanna was notified that he was one of the three winners of the scholarship and the only recipient from the University of Kansas. The recipients were chosen from 14 area Universities. Other winners included students from Pittsburg State University and the University of Missouri.
The scholarship was awarded by the Kansas City Chapter of Financial Executives International (FEI). They are a group of about 200 financial leaders representing various companies and organizations in the area.
