University of Kansas School of Business publications were recently honored for the second year in a row in the Marketing Communications (MarCom) Competition, an international creative competition that recognizes outstanding achievement by marketing and communications professionals.
The KU School of Business received three MarCom 2010 awards, earning one platinum and two gold trophies.
“The Dean’s Report 2010: We’re Not Business as Usual” received the platinum award in the annual report/educational institution category. “Research Profile 2010: Taking Cutting-Edge Knowledge” into the Classroom received the gold award in the brochure/informational category. And the “Annual Report of KU Finance 2010: Building a Financial Community” received the gold award in the magazine/educational institution category.
Entries come from corporate marketing and communication departments, advertising agencies, PR firms, design shops and freelancers. The winners cover a range from individual communicators to media conglomerates and Fortune 500 companies. The competitions are judged by industry professionals who look for marketing and communication work that “exceeds a high standard of excellence and serves as a benchmark for the industry.”
More than 5,000 entries throughout the United States and several foreign countries were judged in the 2010 competition. The KU School of Business communications team, led by Toni Dixon, director of communications, produces the School’s publications.
