The University of Kansas School of Business recently added four new faculty members to its accomplished team. Clint Chadwick, Scott Bronson, Felix Meschke, and Promothesh Chatterjee have come from around the United States to Lawrence, Kan. to begin teaching and researching at the School.

Clint Chadwick knew KU was one of the flagship state universities in the Midwest before he came here in August. “I also knew KU had a good school of business,” he said. Chadwick, who comes to Lawrence from the University of Alabama at Huntsville, is an associate professor of strategy and human resource management. He notes his area of research and instruction is a rare blend. “This isn’t the HR that organizes the company picnic, or the strategy that treats people like machines,” he said.

Scott Bronson, an assistant professor of accounting and information systems, brings knowledge from both the academic and professional world to his research and instruction. The certified public accountant practiced at PricewaterhouseCoopers, LLP before going to the University of Tennessee to earn his Ph.D. “What I learned while practicing definitely helps my teaching,” Bronson said. He is also eager to research auditing and corporate governance with other faculty at the School of Business.

Felix Meschke, who previously worked at the University of Minnesota, is an assistant professor in finance. He will teach investment classes and his research interests are in corporate governance, mutual funds and empirical asset pricing. “I’m looking forward to collaborating with the faculty here,” Meschke said. He also takes pride in making his classes as student-centric as possible.

Promothesh Chatterjee, an assistant professor of marketing, came to the School of Business shortly after he received his doctorate in marketing from the University of South Carolina. An interview with the School’s officials at an American Marketing Association conference sparked his interest in KU. “It’s a great place to be,” he said. Chatterjee’s research and instruction mixes the practical and theoretical aspects of business.

The School of Business’ undergraduate program is ranked in the top 14 percent of public schools of business in the nation by the U.S. News and World Report, and a large factor in its high rankings is its high-quality faculty.
