KU students to network with potential employers at School of Business Career Fair
Tuesday, September 8, 2009
At the University of Kansas, organizations such as the School of Business Career Services Center (BCSC) guarantee that students are given opportunities to network with potential employers. On September 17, over 1300 students will attend the School of Business Career Fair, held in the Kansas Union, where they will be able to meet and submit resumes to representatives from approximately 90 companies. Students are required to dress in business professional clothing to enter the Career Fair and will not be allowed in wearing jeans, shorts, t-shirts, gym clothes, ball caps, or flip flops.
Recruiters from around the nation will set up booths on the 5th floor of the Kansas Union. Companies who participate include Ernst & Young, Altria Distribution and Sales, and Aldi Inc. The BCSC will hold a workshop on September 14 to ensure that students are prepared for the event, and faculty are given the opportunity to meet with employers at a luncheon on the day of the fair. Students who attend will make important, career-strengthening connections and recruiters will benefit from collecting resumes from the university's top students.
Jennifer Jordan, Director of the BCSC, knows that events such as the Business Career Fair are an important opportunity for KU students. "The Business Career Fair represents the launch of the fall recruiting season and provides a forum for students to explore the range of companies who recruit interns and full-time talent from KU, as well as network with representatives from those companies."
