The KU School of Business recognizes the tremendous value of study abroad for our students, both for their personal development and in their future business careers. Funds are set aside each year to help undergraduates who wish to go abroad on one of the many programs offered through KU.
During the past academic year, the School awarded $20,000 in study abroad scholarships to 17 Business students who attended programs in Brazil, China, Costa Rica, Chile, Japan, Korea, and Spain. These scholarships, awarded through the Institute for International Business, are open to Business students in good standing, with priority given to students going abroad for a semester or more; programs that include foreign language study; and programs taking place in emerging economies.
In Fall 2009 the first KU student is taking advantage of the new student exchange program with the University of International Business and Economics in Beijing. The European Business School (EBS) near Frankfurt, Germany is another new partner and we hope to send a KU undergraduate there in Spring 2010.
For more information, please have your student contact Carol Rose, Director, Institute for International Business, 222 Summerfield, 785-8644583 or crose@ku.edu. (Note: scholarships for the Italy program in Paderno are administered through a separate office, contact Leslie Hazlett, lhazlett@ku.edu).
