Business staff member awarded the 2009 Beth Bovee Staff Excellence Award

The School of Business 2009 Beth Bovee Staff Excellence Award has been given to Waqas Rana, an Administrative Associate Senior in the Management department. School of Business faculty awards this honor each year to a staff member who has proven to be someone who provides distinguished service, is happy in their work, pleasing to work with, and courteous in their interactions with others. The award includes a $5,000 prize. Staff nominations for Rana stated that he is "a singularly special employee who has gone out of his way on many occasions to help," and "a pleasure to work with, always pleasant and thoughtful." Coworkers described Rana's work ethic as unmatched "in terms of the level of service and support he provides" and said that Rana "is easy to work with, handles things with efficiency and manages complexity with alacrity and aplomb." Rana was presented with the Beth Bovee Staff Excellence Award at the KU School of Business Assembly on May 1, 2009.
