Homecoming 2008

Sunday, October 26, 2008

Nearly 200 University of Kansas School of Business alumni, faculty and students gathered on the Hill for a class reunion and celebration before this season's Homecoming game on Oct. 25.

"It's great to reconnect with people you haven't seen in a while and see your old classmates, so it's a lot of fun," said Erinn Schaiberger, who received her Master's in Accounting in 2008.

In keeping with the past two reunions, the tent was set up to honor alumni who graduated from the school in five-year increments. This year, alumni who graduated in years ending in a 3 or an 8 were honored. However, alumni from many classes showed up to mingle and enjoy breakfast before the Jayhawks took on Texas Tech.

"We like to build even more spirit for the School of Business and for the University; that's why we do things like this," said School of Business Dean Bill Fuerst.

Business alumni from the classes of 1938 through 2008 gathered to reconnect, share stories and listen to members of the Men's Glee Club choir sing traditional Jayhawk songs. Visitors to the tent enjoyed looking at old KU yearbooks and picking up free School of Business memorabilia.
