KU students network with potential employers at School of Business Career Fair

Monday, September 29, 2008

At the University of Kansas, the School of Business Career Services Center (BCSC) guarantees that students have opportunities to network with potential employers. On September 18, over 1,300 students attended the School of Business Career Fair, held in the Kansan Union, where they were able to meet representatives and submit resumes to over 100 companies.

Recruiters from around the nation set up booths to meet KU Business students. Participating companies included Ernst & Young, Phillip Morris USA and Cessna. The BCSC held a workshop to ensure that students were prepared for the fair, and faculty had the opportunity to meet with employers at a pre-event luncheon. Students who attended made important, career-strengthening connections while recruiters collected resumes from the University's top students.

Jennifer Jordan, director of the BCSC, knows that events such as the Business Career Fair are an important opportunity for KU students.

"The Business Career Fair represents the launch of the fall recruiting season and provides a forum for students to explore the range of companies who recruit interns and full-time talent from KU, as well as network with representatives from those companies," Jordan said, "Feedback from both student and employer participants confirms that the 2008 Business Career Fair was a great success!"
