New members of the KU Endowment Board of Trustees are alumni of the School of Business

The KU School of Business would like to congratulate Jill S. Docking, David L. Murfin, Ramón Murguía, Warren J. Newcomer Jr. and William B. Taylor on their election to the KU Endowment Board of Trustees.

Five of the seven new trustees are School of Business alumni. They were elected to the board at the KU Endowment’s 118th annual meeting on Oct. 12.

Jill S. Docking of Wichita, Kan. received her masters of business administration from the School in 1984. She is currently chair of the Kansas Board of Regents and is first vice president-investments of Wells Fargo Advisors LLC in Wichita.

David L. Murfin from Wichita, Kan. earned his bachelor’s degree in business from the School in 1975. He is president of Murfin Drilling Co. and chairman and CEO of Murfin Inc, which are both based in Wichita.

Ramón Murguía of Kansas City, Kan., graduated from the School in 1981 with a bachelor’s in business administration and accounting. He became a private practice attorney in Kansas City, Mo. after earning a law degree from Harvard University.

Warren J. Newcomer Jr. from Topeka, Kan. received his bachelor’s in business administration from the School in 1975. He is president of Newcomer Funeral Service Group in Topeka.

William B. Taylor of Overland Park, Kan. earned his bachelor’s in accounting and business administration in 1967 and completed a master’s in accounting in 1969 at the School of Business. Before his retirement, he worked with domestic and international clients for Ernst and Young.
