Frequently Asked Questions
I want to petition to substitute a required course, what do I do?
Go to the "Forms" tab, click on "Course Petition Form" and print. Drop off completed form in 124 Summerfield or fax to 785-864-5078. We will forward the petition on to the appropriate faculty person for a decision and email the results to you. Note: if you wish to transfer credit to reduce the number of hours for your program, only six hours of graduate credit (not distance-learning courses) taken at a regionally accredited graduate school may be transferred and applied to a program. Only work graded B (3.0 on a 4.0 scale) or higher may be transferred.
I want to take a course in another department, how do I find out if that will count for credit for my program?
Email Dee Steinle at dsteinle@ku.edu with your request along with the course information.
I want to add or drop a course?
You will need to fill out the Schedule Change Form and drop it off in Summerfield Hall room 124, fax to 785-864-5078, or email KU MBA. Also, make sure you review the add and drop dates at the registrars office.
How and when should I apply for graduation?
Applying for graduation is a two-step process.
The School of Business holds a ceremony at the end of the fall and spring semester. The University ceremony is held once a year at the end of the spring semester.
- First you must apply for a grad check via Enroll & Pay. After you apply you will receive a notice via the Kyou portal in 1-2 weeks.
- If your grad check was approved you will receive an email from Monica Lemmons in the Dean's office on how to apply for the graduation ceremony the School of Business holds.
