COUNSELING

The KU-KSBDC provides free and confidential one-to-one counseling for small business owners, managers, and prospective owners. The center is able to work with any company that fits into the SBA's definition of a small business. The definition changes by industry, but is typically 500 employees or fewer. Click here to visit the SBA's website for their definition of "small." The center works both with startup companies and with existing small businesses.

Counseling services are provided on an individual basis to meet the needs of the specific company or business owner. Typical areas covered in counseling include the startup process, business planning, financing / funding, marketing, accounting, human resources and taxes. The objective of this counseling is to promote a healthy small business community and to foster economic development through new business starts, expansions, new / retained jobs and sales growth.
