Current Activities Barry Baysinger's general area of expertise is the relationship between the external environment of business, international management, organizational design and reward systems, and organizational performance. His primary interest is to understand the process by which large business organizations, in both the United States and Central and Eastern Europe, manage the transition from traditional vertically integrated, hierarchical bureaucracies to the more democratic, decentralized and participate designs that the better-performing organizations tend to adopt. He also focuses on the development of colleges of business administration, MBA programs and Management Development programs in countries that are making the transition from central planning to forms of free-market democratic capitalism. He has worked with the faculty of the University of Economics, Prague, and conducted management development programs and faculty workshops in Mexico and Jakarta, Indonesia.
