Who is a Finance Scholar?

A Finance Scholar

• Shows a keen interest in pursuing a career in investment banking, investment management or a comparable financial position
• Has superior academic achievement with a minimum GPA of 3.4
• Demonstrates exceptional initiative and leadership ability

Program Overview for 2008-09

• An initial $1,000 scholarship for the Fall 2008 semester.
• Enroll in FIN 300 during the Fall 2008 semester and FIN 301, Spring 2009
• Prepare to find a Finance Internship for Summer 2009
• On-site visits to premier financial institutions in such locations as Kansas City, Chicago, or New York during Fall 2008 and Spring 2009
• Final $1,000 scholarship Spring 2009 (subject to continued association with the Finance Scholars Program)
• Main job interviewing season – Fall 2009
  

Apply to be a 2008-09 Finance Scholar. Application Deadline: April 25, 2008

Application Process Timeline

For December 2009 Graduates or later (typically a sophomore or junior during Fall 2008).

Application deadline: April 25, 2008
Interviews for selected applicants: May 2008
Finance Scholars will be selected by May 12
FIN 300 will be offered in Fall 2008

The next application opportunity will be April 2009 for anticipated December 2010 graduates or later.

Applicants shouild have a graduation date no earlier than December 2009 (typically a junior or sophomore for Fall 2008)
