Application Information

The application deadline for the Fall 2009 Finance Scholars is March 31, 2009. Please log in to Career Connections to submit your application.

Applicants should

• Demonstrate an interest in pursuing a competitive career in finance
• Have superior academic achievement with a minimum GPA of 3.4
• Demonstrate exceptional initiative and leadership ability
• Be a finance major with a graduation date no earlier than December 2010 (typically a junior or sophomore for Fall 2009)

Application Process

Applicants should submit the following:

1. A resume through KU Career Connections
2. A document that provides the following information:

Name, KUID, Expected Graduation Date, and a response to the following questions:

• What are your long-term academic and career goals?
• What would you contribute to the Finance Scholars Program?
• Give a brief overview of your experience at KU to date.

  Please limit your total response to these three questions to 1 page.
  

Other Material

• The name and phone number of two references. At least one should be a professor or instructor. The selection committee may contact your references.
• It is encouraged, but not required, to submit a faculty reference letter, preferably from the KU School of Business.
  

Application Timeline

• Application deadline: March 31, 2009
• Interviews for selected applicants: early April 2009
• Finance Scholars will be selected by late April
• FIN 302 will be offered in Fall 2009 on Fridays at noon.
