The KU School of Business offers a number of unique opportunities to allow students to witness international commerce at work, interacting with business executives across the globe. In the past, Master's students have traveled to: Brazil, China, France, Germany, India, Italy and Mexico.
Study Abroad Dual-Degree Program:
Offered in partnership with the
Groupe ESC Clermont Graduate School of Management, the MBA-MIM combines graduate-level management classes at the Lawrence Campus, a semester of classes at Clermont-Ferrand in France, and an approximate six-month internship at a European company. The result is a KU MBA and a Master in Management from The Groupe ESC Clermont Graduate School of Management.

Business in India
Dec. 27, 2007 – Jan. 7, 2008
This two-credit-hour course focuses on the business climate in modern India, including introductions to Indian culture, history and economic development. Students stay at the prestigious India School of Business (ISB) in Hyderabad, an emerging hub for IT and biotechnology. Students also meet with business leaders and government officials to learn about factors driving India’s economic boom. Approximate cost for the 2007-2008 program was $2,500 plus airfare and incidentals. Partial scholarships are available for students who sign-up early. European Marketing and Business
March 15-21, 2008
A two-credit-hour course taught at one of the top French business schools, the week-long program includes lectures by professors at the Ecole Superieure de Commerce (ESC) in Clermont-Ferrand, France, team projects with ESC students, meetings with executives and visits to regional companies. Global Business Project in Brazil
March — May 2008
These new projects give MBA students the chance to join real business projects at multinational or local corporations in the target country. Priority consideration for enrollment is given to first-year MBAs, and enrollment is competitive. For the Brazil project, an intermediate knowledge of Portuguese is required. Teams travel to Washington, D.C., for an orientation before heading to their destination countries. Cost for the Brazil project is approximately $2,500, plus tuition, airfare and incidentals. Strategies for Entry and Operation in China
May 19-30, 2008
China has become a major player in the world economy. Most U.S. companies are now or soon will be dealing with Chinese businesses as clients, suppliers, competitors, or partners. This two-week, two-credit hour study abroad program addresses the requirements needed for a successful China strategy through visits to selected companies and government institutions in Beijing and Shanghai. Students will attend lectures at the University of International Business and Economics (UIBE) in Beijing and meet with executives from several multinational and Chinese firms. Enrollment is competitive. Cost is $2,500, plus airfare and incidentals. Scholarships of $1,250 were awarded to students with financial need who signed up by the Feb. 20, 2008 deadline. Italy program

In association with the Consortium Institute of Management and Business Analysis, MBA students can study on the CIMBA campus in Northeastern Italy. These sessions range from two weeks to a full semester and allow graduate students to participate in courses not readily available at their home institutions while gaining valuable international experience. KU was instrumental in developing this opportunity which is now available to students at more than 35 graduate schools of business.
