International Experience
In today’s economy, all business is global. Each region and country of the world operates according to varying customs and practices in business. Understanding these complexities is essential for success in the global environment. The KU School of Business offers a number of unique opportunities to allow students to witness international commerce at work, interacting with business executives across the globe. In the past, Master's students have traveled to: Brazil, China, France, Germany, India, Italy and Mexico.

| Study Abroad Dual-Degree Program:Offered in partnership with the Groupe ESC Clermont Graduate School of Management, the MBA-MIM combines graduate-level management classes at the Lawrence Campus, a semester of classes at Clermont-Ferrand in France, and an approximate six-month internship at a European company. The result is a KU MBA and a Master in Management from The Groupe ESC Clermont Graduate School of Management. find out more >>

March 13-19, 2010 – FRANCE (spring break) This program offers KU graduate business students a unique opportunity to see how businesses in France and the EU adapt marketing practices for various countries and cultures... » Read More This program offers KU graduate business students a unique opportunity to see how businesses in France and the EU adapt marketing practices for various countries and cultures. It takes place at the Ecole Superieure de Commerce (ESC) in Clermont-Ferrand. ESC is one of the top business schools in France and has been KU’s partner school for 60 years. The program focuses on various dimensions of the European business environment and guidelines for operating effectively in Europe. Students are assigned to multinational teams of KU and ESC students, and work with these teams on class projects as well as participating in some social events. The course is taught in English by ESC faculty and includes visits to local companies such as Michelin, and discussions with French business executives. A regional tour of Clermont-Ferrand is included, with optional time in Paris or Lyon. May 15 – 28, 2010 – CHINA Students will visit U.S. and Chinese companies and government institutions in Beijing and Shanghai to learn about the economic, political and managerial factors that affect business operations in China... » Read More Students will visit U.S. and Chinese companies and government institutions in Beijing and Shanghai to learn about the economic, political and managerial factors that affect business operations in China. Lectures will be provided by faculty at the University of International Business and Economics (UIBE) in Beijing. Students will also explore the culture of Shanghai and Beijing, with visits to the Great Wall, Forbidden City, and the Terracotta Warriors Museum in Xi'an. Students should enroll in Business in China (BUS. 895) as prerequisite for the study abroad experience. Admittance to the program will be selective, based on GPA and an application letter. Global Business Project
March – May, 2010 SPRING/SUMMER The Global Business Projects are offered through KU’s Center for International Business Education and Research (CIBER) in collaboration with CIBERs at several other universities. Teams of MBA students from various U.S. universities work on real business projects in other countries, for multinationals or local companies. GBP is sponsored by a consortium of 13 Centers for International Business Education and Research (CIBERs) at leading business schools. GBP puts multi-university teams of MBA students to work solving real problems that face corporations and not-for-profits.
