Center for Banking Excellence

Recent experience reminds us that the banking industry plays a central role in the U.S. economy.  The KU Center for Banking Excellence sponsors and participates in events designed to produce new knowledge and disseminate new learning about banking practice, industry performance, bank regulation and public policy, and the consequences for the larger economy.

The first event in which the Center participated was in June 2009, a conference on Real Estate Finance co-sponsored with the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City and attended by 125 bankers and related professionals.  A schedule of events for 2010 will be announced soon.

In the coming years we hope to teach, communicate with, and learn from a broad constituency of people from the world of banking—including practitioners, regulators, academic and industry experts, students seeking employment in the financial services industry, and financial services firms seeking to hire well-trained KU graduates.

Please contact us if you would like to learn more about the activities of the KU Center for Banking Excellence, become a sponsor of the Center, or have suggestions for helping the Center accomplish its mission.
